iPad Tips and Tricks - How iPad Video Lessons Can Help

Expert Author Nate Rio
If you have recently purchased an iPad, or any devices using the Apple iOS for that fact, you will notice that the devices do not come with any detailed iPad instruction manual or any type of iPad video lessons. The good news is that you can find a number of resources made available to you online from a strong community of iPad users with all sorts of skills.
Let us look at a few tips and tricks to get you started using your iPad, even if you do not have any of the iPad video lessons available to use.
1. Setting up your Email Accounts: Under the "Settings" application, tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and then "Add account." You will then be prompted to select your main email service like Gmail or Yahoo for example. You can then enter your full name, your full email address, your email password, and finally an account nickname. After doing this, your email will be set up! Pretty easy, and without using any iPad video lessons!
2. Privacy Settings - Under the Settings application when you tap Privacy, you will find "Location Services" which will allow all of your apps the ability to track your location at a given time. For instance, when using Facebook, the application will let you place your location when posting updates.
3. Under Brightness and Wallpaper in the General settings, you choose your screen lock screensaver and lock screen picture - feel free to take a favorite picture using your camera and use this on your homescreen. Other tutorials using iPad video lessons may show you how to use other advanced methods, but this is the easiest way to set this up under the general settings.
4. If you ever forget your number (this is more common than most people think in this digital age!), remember you can view your phone number under the "Phone" logo in the general setting application. Regarding contact organization, back under Mail, Contacts, Calendar, you can determine how you want to alphabatize, either by first or last name.
5. The Maps can be easily customized too - whether you want to show the maps in miles or kilometers.
6. Another tip I learned from watching iPad video lessons is how to move apps on your homescreen. If you hold down an app for a few seconds, you will start to see it wiggle. You are then free to either delete or move to a different screen (either right or left), wherever there is room. The iPad will allow you to only delete added applications, so none of the stock apps can be removed.
These tips should get you started, and you are able to get up and running without the use of iPad video lessons. There are may capabilities of the iPad, and each customization is as unique as its user.
